Ian Sinclair Quartet + Special Guest Alex Samaras, Contemporary jazz

Ian is now a Saskatoon-based pianist/keyboardist, and has long had a focus in jazz and related creative music. While he now performs at well-known venues with that province’s best-known musicians, he had lived for over 15 years in Toronto where he returns regularly to perform as well. Ian has long collaborated with all of the award-winning musicians in this ensemble, often as bandleader – there is a well-established chemistry with this group. Alex Samaras, in particular, is a special treat for this concert – he comes off being recently nominated for “”Vocal Jazz Album of the Year”” at the Junos. Expect to hear dynamic original compositions from various group members as well as reimaginings of standard repertoire.
