triliac, Neo Soul, Hip Hop, Jazz with Jeremie Boudreau

triliac is a new band driven by improvisation, emerging from idioms in neo soul, hip hop, and jazz. The name of the band is an acronym for “Trust, Listen, Action,” the main practice that drives the band. The band’s improvising is built from a simple 2-4 bar loop of a standard or record cut, sometimes staying within that sample’s soundscape, sometimes venturing somewhere else completely. Much like how a DJ conducts their set, their performances put an emphasis on keeping the music fluid and moving, flexible to whatever the moment may suggest.
