Sean Croal Chordless Trio, The Sean Croal Chordless Trio presents State of the Tenor, Live at the Emmet Ray.

Sean Croal is an upright and electric bassist, as well as a composer, bandleader, and educator. Born in Alberta, but left at a young age to study bass in Doha, Qatar, under renowned bassist Matteo Gaspari of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. After spending time studying music in Qatar, Finland, and Alberta, Sean is now based in Toronto where he is quickly establishing himself as one of the most active names in Canada’s music scene, playing alongside the likes of PJ Perry, Jocelyn Gould, and Melissa Aldana as well as opened for a number of high-profile acts such as Cory Henry, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Sean splits his time between various bands, including his own trio featuring Patrick Smith on saxophone, and Aidan McConnell on drum kit. Sean continues to establish himself within Toronto, whilst continuing to be a part of the music community throughout Canada and beyond.
