Ready for Success with Tony Quarrington, Eclectic swinging standard-like originals
This new band of veteran players got together to do what ended up being a year-long residency at Toronto’s Imperial Pub, recently closed after 81 years. To the band’s already large repertoire of jazz standards ( and not so standards) Tony Quarrington and Zoey Adams brought a whole bunch of original songs from their 8 previous recordings. These take in a lot of genres, from sassy swing to moody ballads to sensuous Latin, and are sometimes sung in Spanish or French.

READY FOR SUCCESS is a new band of veteran musicians who have recently completed a year-long Friday residency at the renowned Imperial Pub (now defunct). They are a five-member jazz band who perform some standards, but mainly focus on original instrumental tunes and songs by members Tony Quarrington (guitar/vocals) and Zoey Adams (vocals). These two have released seven albums of their compositions, and in 2025 they joined forces with the trio of Bruce Tatemichi (piano/sax/flute), Chester Manoharan(bass), and Pierre LeGendre (drums). Besides their long residency, they have performed at the Tranzac, My House in the Junction, and Momiji. As yet unreleased is a live recording made at the Imperial in its last weeks.
