Maude Fortier Quartet, Tradition Jazz in a Contemporary Voice
Maude’s musical style weaves the depth of the jazz tradition with a fresh contemporary voice, balancing expressive lyricism and modern rhythmic energy.
The Maude Fortier Quartet is a young voice in Montreal dedicated the preservation and promotion of jazz tradition. A conglomerate of like-minded individuals, the ensemble has begun making strides across its local scene; performing a mix of original music, as well as faithful renditions of compositions from jazz’s most notable figures. For this event, Maude is featuring music from her debut album as a composer. She is joined by Juno on bass, August McKinney on piano and Julian Ferrer on drums.
