Junctional Rhythm, Jazz/Funk/Blues
Junctional Rhythm is a four-piece instrumental group exploring the intersection of jazz, funk, and blues. The band came together through a shared love of vintage keyboard-driven music, inspired by artists like Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, Medeski Martin & Wood, and Jimmy Smith.
The sound is centered around Anton Helman, who brings depth and character with a range of classic keyboard tones—from Wurlitzer and Hammond organ to other vintage electric keys. Guitarist Peter Christidis adds expressive lines and rhythmic edge, while the rhythm section—Michael Taylor on bass and Armando Piluso on drums—lays down a solid, responsive groove.
Junctional Rhythm performs a mix of interpretive covers and original material, always aiming for feel, spontaneity, and musical connection. Each member draws on years of experience across different genres, creating a sound that’s rooted, versatile, and wide open to exploration.
