Agustín Grasso Trio, Contemporary Jazz From New York City, Canadian Debut
The Agustín Grasso Trio brings together three accomplished musicians from New York City’s vibrant jazz scene: guitarist Hans Luchs, bassist Felipe Arce, and drummer Agustín Grasso. Performing a dynamic mix of original compositions and fresh takes on jazz classics, the trio showcases a sound that is both rooted in tradition and forward-looking. Their upcoming performance in Toronto marks the group’s Canadian debut.
Hans Luchs is a guitarist and composer originally from Chicago and now based in New York. He has toured internationally and shared the stage with artists ranging from Grammy-winning Latin superstar Pepe Aguilar to Motown legend Martha Reeves, while maintaining a strong voice as a jazz performer and educator.
Felipe Arce, an Argentinian bassist now living in New York, recently recorded his debut album featuring Grammy Winner pianist Leo Genovese and other acclaimed musicians. His music blends contemporary jazz with South American influences, and he is quickly establishing himself as a rising voice on the international jazz scene.
Agustín Grasso, also from Argentina, is a versatile drummer active across New York’s jazz and creative music community. He has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Judson Memorial Church, collaborating with artists including Ed Cherry, Benito Gonzalez, and Joe Magnarelli. With over 15 years of teaching and performing experience, he brings both sensitivity and fire to the trio.
