The Steady Collective, Reggae Jam, with some R&B, incorporating jazz improv

The Steady Collective is a Toronto based reggae band formed to support and grow The STEADY Jam, a reggae jam in the city created for musicians, singers, and reggae lovers. Serving as the house band, the group creates a welcoming space where artists come together to collaborate and share music rooted in reggae culture. While grounded in reggae, the sound reflects the backgrounds of the musicians, many of whom grew up playing gospel music and working within jazz improvisation, shaping a responsive and conversational approach to performance. At its core, The Steady Collective exists to support community, connection, and live music in Toronto, providing a steady rhythmic foundation while encouraging creative expression within the jam.
