DESCRIPTION:Jacob Do First Chorus Album Release \nEdmonton jazz saxophonist Jacob Do celebrates his debut album “”First Chorus”” – a recording based in the tradition of swing and bebop. \nFirst Chorus is Edmonton-based tenor saxophonist Jacob Do’s debut full-length album\, set for release on MacEwan University’s Bent River Records on November 6\, 2026. Following his well-received EP Maybe\, Live at the Yardbird Suite\, this release is the culmination of a deep study of the bebop language\, combined with the sound and perspective of a contemporary Canadian musician. \nJacob Do is a jazz saxophonist\, composer\, and educator whose resonant and nuanced sound lends itself to emotional storytelling through improvisation\, rooted in swing and the bebop tradition. Jacob holds his degree in Jazz Performance from McGill University with Outstanding Achievement in Jazz Saxophone\, where he studied with Rémi Bolduc. Jacob has also participated in the Tribeca Jazz Institute in New York City\, where he studied with Grant Stewart and Eric Alexander. Jacob holds both a Stingray Rising Star Award (2019\, Ottawa International Jazz Festival) and the inaugural Oliver Jones Award (2019\, Festival International de Jazz de Montréal). Featuring both his signature foot stomping Rock n Roll sound and heart felt ballads. It truly shows his versatility.

DESCRIPTION:Cale Fladager’s Wisła Ensemble\, Polish Jazz\, Modern Jazz \nThe Wisła Ensemble is a jazz and improvised music group dedicated to presenting the unique tradition of Polish Jazz music. Spending his teenage years growing up in Warsaw\, Cale Fladager developed a deep interest in the jazz and improvised music of his home. Now with his ensemble\, named after the mighty Wisła river that flows through Poland\, Cale is bringing the Polish jazz tradition to Canada\, alongside Lauchlin Wood (saxophone)\, Bryn Robin (piano)\, Fiona Varty (bass)\, and Jack Stockill (drums).
