Sadie Koshan Trio, Contemporary and Traditional Jazz
While in high school, Sadie Koshan discovered her love for jazz drumming and ambition to pursue jazz performance as a lifelong career. She is currently studying in her second year in Jazz Performance at Mcgill Schulich School of music. She is also active in the Vancouver Jazz scene (her home town). Sadie is extremely grateful to be able to play at the Emmet Ray Whiskey Jazz Bar! For this performance, Sadie is joined by two friends and incredible players: Harmeet Virdee (bass) and Ruby Roussain (piano). Ruby Roussain is a jazz pianist and music teacher currently studying music at the University of Toronto, and performing regularly in the Toronto jazz scene.Together, the three comprise the Sadie Koshan Trio, a hard-swinging and grooving group inspired by the Oscar Peterson Trio and Ahmad Jamal Trio.
