KYNDL, Swing jazz and Classic K-POP
KYNDL is a Toronto-based band formed in 2023 by a group of Humber College music students, led by bandleader Kwangmin Noh. Originally created to perform for Noh’s school recitals, the band soon expanded its repertoire, performing jazz standards and classic K-POP tunes beyond the campus. Their music is rooted in ragtime and traditional jazz swing, emphasizing the traditional swing feel. They also reinterpret classic K-POP songs with a unique touch, blending traditional jazz styles and textures. KYNDL draws inspiration from early jazz legends such as Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, and Billie Holiday.
Over the past two years, KYNDL has been shaping their identity and style through performances at local venues like The Emmet Ray, The Only Cafe, and other small spaces. As they continue to grow as musicians, the band is eager to connect with larger audiences and share their music on a broader stage.
