Originally from Victoria, BC, Chase Ward is a Toronto-based musician and composer with a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance. He has studied under acclaimed artists including Mark Kelso, Larnell Lewis, Hilario Duran, and Joaquin Nunez Hidalgo. A skilled multi-instrumentalist, Ward has worked as a prolific sideman, performing and recording with groups such as The West Coast Soul Collective, The Simon Williams Sextet, Ryan Van Winkle (20 EYES), and the Mumbo Jumbo Combo.

Ward’s trio—a collaborative project grounded in storytelling and spontaneity—has toured across Canada, delivering performances that are dynamic, conversational, and ever-evolving. The group features Edmonton-born pianist and arranger Simon Williams and fellow Victorian bassist Josh Warren. Together, they blend the jazz tradition with rhythmic influences from Latin, Afro-Cuban, and New Orleans styles.
